Indiana had 12 scholarship players for the 2023-24 season but on Wednesday it was announced that freshman guard Jakai Newton would be out indefinitely after undergoing surgery on a pre-existing injury.

Newton was part of a three-man high school class that included guard Gabe Cupps and wing Mackenzie Mgbako.

Kel’el Ware, Anthony Walker and Payton Sparks are all additions through the transfer portal — all forwards.

Fans can get a look at the Hoosiers on Oct. 20 at Hoosier Hysteria. They also have two exhibitions before the regular season.
