The Indiana football program has earned another transfer commitment from a very productive linebacker as UMass transfer Nahji Logan announced his pledge to the Hoosiers on Sunday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3 and 230-pounder has one year of eligibility remaining.

Logan led UMass with 60 tackles last season and added four tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks and one quarterback hurry. He had one of his best performances with eight tackles at Penn State. His play earned him College Football Network All-Independent Defense Team (Second Team – LB) honors.

As a sophomore in 2022, Logan appeared in 12 games and finished with 29 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and had three quarterback hurries and one pass break up.

Logan was a three-star linebacker at Hatboro-Horsham (Pa.) out of high school. He had 155 tackles, including 34 tackles for loss as a senior. Outside of UMass, Logan held additional offers from Akron, Bowling Green and Temple among others.

Indiana’s linebacking room was very thin this spring, with only five scholarship linebackers. Logan’s addition was much needed as well after the Hoosiers moved returning linebacker Jacob Mangum-Farrar to their new ‘stud’ position on the defensive line.

Logan became the third commit of the weekend for Indiana football, joining a pair of James Madison transfers — including freshman All-American defensive back D’Angelo Ponds.
