James Madison transfer defensive lineman Tyrique Tucker ended his portal recruitment on Tuesday by committing to the Indiana football program.

The redshirt freshman appeared in all 13 games with five starts for the Dukes in 2023. He finished with 29 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. His best performances were a career-high four tackles at Virginia, at Troy and vs. Georgia Southern.

He had three or more tackles in six games.

Indiana football needed depth at the defensive line position, so finding Tucker — someone who has been very productive and has multi-year eligibility left is a major plus.

Tucker was part of the Bryant Haines defense for James Madison defense that led the country in run defense with just 61.5 yards allowed per game. They also led the nation with 114 tackles for lass.

Indiana football lost Philip Blidi, LeDarrius Cox, Patrick Lucas Jr and Nick James to the transfer portal following the 2023 season.

Tucker has three years of eligibility remaining.
