Indiana basketball has its backcourt for the 2024-25 season solidified and that comes through the transfer portal.

Washington State guard Myles Rice — and Pac-12 Freshman of the Year — was first to commit last weekend. Then, friend and former Pac-12 standout guard from Stanford, Kanaan Carlyle, committed this weekend on his visit.

Both players know each other from growing up around the Atlanta area.

Rice averaged 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this season. He is a tremendous player in pick-and-roll and high ball screen action.

Carlyle averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. He is a fantastic slashing guard with good strength and ability to finish at the rim.

Both players are good scorers and compliment each other nicely.

Each player had their best game of the season this past year going head-to-head when Washington State played Stanford. Rice scored 35 points on 15-of-24 from the field and 5-of-10 on 3s. He added eight assists and just two turnovers in 35 minutes. Carlyle countered with 31 points on 10-of-18 from he field and 3-of-5 from three. He was also 8-of-9 from the foul line.

Both are expected to start for Indiana basketball next year.

Below are highlights of the game. Rice is No. 2 in black/gray. Carlyle is No. 3 in white.
