Indiana basketball is moving quickly in the transfer portal and are looking to add another commit to its roster this offseason. The next visit up on the schedule is Wisconsin transfer Connor Essegian.

Essegian will be on campus on Wednesday, according to On3.com national basketball reporter Joe Tipton.

Essegian is from Fort Wayne, originally playing for Central Noble (Ind.) high school.

He spent two seasons at Wisconsin — yielding vastly different results. Essegian started 19 games as a freshman, scoring 11.7 points and shooting 35.9 percent from three on two made 3s a game. He had 24 games with 10+ points and his career-high 24 points against Michigan.

Essegian made at least one three in 31 of 35 games played. He had at least two 3s in 24 games.

This past year, however, Essegian was rarely in the rotation. He went from 27.4 minutes a game to just 7.3 minutes a game from his freshman to sophomore season. He averaged just 3.2 points and shot 30.3 percent from three.

Essegian scored in double-digits just twice and made just 20 3s total on the season. A drop from 69 in year one.

The 6-foot-4 guard set the Wisconsin freshman record for made 3s in a season in 2022-23.

Essegian has visited Maryland and South Carolina thus far since entering the transfer portal. Michigan is another program that is actively pursing the shooting guard.

Indiana basketball has added point guard Myles Rice from Washington State and center Oumar Ballo from Arizona thus far in the transfer portal. Indian basketball has four available scholarships ahead of the 2024-25 season.
