Indiana basketball continues its 124th season of competition on the road against the Penn State Nittany Lions at the Bryce Jordan Center on Saturday, Feb. 24. Hoosiers are riding a horrendous three-game losing skid.

The Nittany Lions enter the game with a 13-14 record and a 7-9 mark in conference play. PSU erased a 11-point deficit with 3:30 to play to defeat Illinois, 90-89, on Wednesday, Feb. 21. Senior guard Ace Baldwin averages 13.9 points, 5.6 assists, and a Big Ten-leading 2.8 steals per game. Graduate transfer forward Qudus Wahab leads PSU with 7.4 rebounds per game to go along with 9.1 points.

Head coach Mike Rhoades is in his debut season in University Park after spending the previous six seasons with VCU. He took the Rams to three NCAA Tournaments and won two Atlantic-10 regular seasons.

First Half

Indiana wins the tip and we are off.

Mgbako gets a corner three up but misses and goes out of bounds.

Defensive stop leads to a Malik Reneau travel. 2 turnovers by Indiana basketball in the first two possessions.

Reneau gets fouled. He goes 1-2 at the line.

Mgbako picks up his first foul. Reneau would pick up his first foul immediately afterwards.

Strong drive by Trey Galloway leads to tough bucket through contact plus the foul. Was a little shaken up.

Gabe Cupps picks up his first foul.

No lineup changes out of the break.

Good dump down to Ware for Indiana basketball to take the 6-5 lead. Mgbako with the assist.

Mgbako picks up his 2nd foul. CJ Gunn checks in and gets a nice baseline score.

Ware gets to the line. He goes 1-2.

Galloway back in for Cupps.

Ware picks up his second foul. Reneau back in.

Penn State three gives them the lead back.

Reneau scores through contact which leads into the final media timeout of the half. Tied game with 3:49 left. 

Reneau makes the free throw out of the break.

Tough bucket by Walker ties the game back up at 32.

Gabe Cupps picks up his 2nd foul.

Indiana basketball up to 8 turnovers.

Timeout Penn State. Nittany Lions up 38-32.

Timeout Mike Woodson. Hoosier down 8 now.

Mgbako checks back in.

Galloway gets fouled. he goes 1-2.

At the half: Penn State 40, Indiana basketball 33

Second Half

Penn State ball to start the second half here.

Ware picks up his third foul right out of the gate in the second half. He stays in.

Penn State three extends the lead to 43-33.

Timeout Mike Woodson. Indiana all out of sorts. Good timeout before this thing gets out of hand.

Strong drive by Mgbako to get his first points. He has been so quiet.

Ware picks up his 4th foul. Just head scratching fouls by him today. Payton Sparks checks in for the first time today.

Gabe Cupps picks up his 3rd foul.

Penn State extends the lead to the 12 after a steal and transition bucket.

Under-16 Media timeout: Penn State 47, Indiana basketball 37. Malik Reneau with a chance at the line out of the break. 

Reneau goes 2-2 at the line.

Mgbako with another strong drive and get the And1 chance. He missed his free throw.

Reenau with a couple of back-to-back buckets.

Great baseline drive by Leal cuts the lead down to just five.

Indiana basketball forces a shot clock violation.

Galloway drives cuts the lead down to just three.

Under-12 Media timeout: Penn State 54, Indiana 49. Hoosiers have picked up the pace and have made their last three FGs.

Reneau scores out of the break. Indiana needs to continue to feed the big fella.

Malik Reneau has taken over this game even though he looks extremely tired.

Timeout Mike Woodson. Penn State leads 61-54 with 8:57 left.

Galloway loses the ball. Penn State lead back up to 9.

Under-8 Media timeout: Penn State 65, Indiana basketball 56

Penn State leads 68-60 with 4:43 left.

Indiana was able to cut the lead down to 72-67.

Indiana basketball nails their first three with 1:30 left. They are down 8.

Penn State lets 78-71 with 55 seconds left.

Penn State turns the ball over.

Mgbako missed a three and they foul Penn State.

Indiana chooses not to foul anymore.
