FanDuel Sports released its projected win total for the 2024 season and the Inina football program has an intriguing betting line.

The 2024 college football season is six months away and this past week the projected win totals for power five programs were released and that includes an intriguing number for the Indiana football program.

While Indiana hasn’t made it to a bowl game in three straight years, its FanDuel win total was projected at 5.5 total wins.

Indiana is coming off of a 3-9 season and the only one-win team in Big Ten games. Following the season, former Indiana football head coach Tom Allen was fired after seven years on the sidelines.

After two straight bowl game appearances in 2019 and 2020 when Indiana went 14-7, it was three straight years without a bowl appearance as well as a 9-27 overall record. That included just three Big Ten wins in three seasons.

Now, enter former James Madison head coach Curt Cignetti.

Cignetti was introduced as the new Indiana football head coach in December and has seemingly changed the culture and expectation in just two short months.

Cignetti has never had a losing season in 13 years at multiple stops.

“We got to change the way people think about Indiana,” Cignetti said during his National Signing Day press conference earlier this month. “We’ve been adamant that, look, we’re going to win and we’re going to win this year and we’re going to change the brand and the expectation level and the way people see Indiana football.”

Indiana opens spring practice later this month and will have its first official spring game in years, set for April 18.

The Hoosiers get their season started on Aug. 31 at home against Florida International. Their first Big Ten game is on the road in week three against UCLA.

“I’ll tell you what, we got some momentum going, and we have a lot of people to buy in,” Cignetti said in December. “Look, the administration here, they want football to win. So I probably have some things that the other coaches didn’t, and they got a guy that knows what they’re doing.”

Here is the full Big Ten projections:
