Indiana basketball hits the road for the first of a two-game stretch away from Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in its 124th season of competition. The Hoosiers are coming off a much-needed win over Wisconsin this past season.

Maryland, under the guidance of second-year head coach Kevin Willard, are led by fifth-year senior guard Jahmir Young. He ranks third in the Big Ten in scoring at 20.9 points per night to go along with 118 assists and 53 made 3-pointers.

Junior forward Julian Reese adds 13.9 points and 9.7 boards per contest. Senior forward Jordan Geronimo, a former Hoosier, averages 5.6 points and 4.1 rebounds in 24 starts.

First Half

Maryland wins the tip and we are off. The Terms score first.

Indiana basketball turns the ball over first possession.

Gabe Cupps nails a pull-up 15fter. Maryland turns it over right after.

Hoosiers go up 4-2 with Reneau hitting both free throws.

Reneau gets a rebound and pushes the ball up the floor to find an open Gabe Cupps for a three.

Maryland scores then Indiana basketball turns the ball over. Hoosiers being aggressive but a little too carless with the ball.

Xavier Johnson checks in for Cupps.

Maryland on run here. Hoosiers on a 4:02 scoring drought.

Indiana basketball way too relax with the basketball. No pride in taking care of the ball.

Xavier Johnson bucket ends the drought.

Leal hits a corner three. Xavier Johnson would hit a three to tie at 17. Hoosiers 3-of-5 from deep.

CJ Gunn checks in for Galloway.

Maryland three gives the Terps the lead back. Just has been a shootout of a game thus far.

Ware misses a three. He has not had a good game thus far. He would pick up his first foul.

Maryland has really sped up this game for Indiana basketball. Terms up 29-20. Mike Woodson calls timeout.

Reneau back on the floor. Scores through contact as soon as he comes in. He makes the free throw.

Reneau picks up his 2nd foul.

Mgbako with back-to-back threes.

Second Half

Maryland has now extended the lead to 48-33.

Trey Galloway gets Indiana’s first points of the game.

Indiana basketball goes on a little run to get this within 9. 7-0 run.

Hoosiers have hit their last 6 FGs. Cut the lead down to 53-46. Timeout Maryland. Hoosiers on a 11-2 run.

Ware blocks the shot.

Maryland scores out of the break. Ware answers. 13-4 Indiana basketball run.

Mgbako drive results in a score plus the foul. He makes the free throw. Maryland leads 55-51.

Former Indiana basketball forward Jordan Geronimo hits a three. Mgbako answers with a three for himself.

Mgbako hits the free throw. Hoosiers down 2.

Malik Reneau picks up his 3rd foul.

Kel’el Ware bucket but there was a foul called on Maryland’s Reece because there was an elbow around the neck area. Refs determined it was a common foul AND they took the bucket away from Ware. Ware would score anyways.

Trey Galloway fouled in transition. Galloway goes 2-2 at the line. Tied game.

Johnson misses a transition and Galloway puts it back in to give Indiana basketball the lead.

31-13 run by Indiana right now.

Steal by Johnson leads to a Mgbako dunk. Hoosiers up 4.

Timeout Indiana with 5:49 left. Hoosiers up 68-64.

10-0 run the last 4:15 for Indiana.

Maryland calls another timeout.

Hoosiers up 10 now. This run is incredible. Ware free throw exentds the Indiana basketball lead to 11.

Reneau with his 4th foul.

Maryland three cuts the lead to 77-69.

Another Maryland three cuts it to 77-72. Indiana calls timeout.

Officials reviewed to see who last touched the ball on an out of bounds. Maryland ball.

Trey Galloway steal on Maryland inbounds.

Goaltending called on Maryland. Hoosiers lead by 7. Johnson follows it up with a steal and gets fouled. He goes 2-2 at the line.
