The Indiana basketball program is gearing up for a busy fall and that includes hosting numerous high-profile prospects for visits. On Thursday Cannon (NC) top-50 guard Austin Swartz officially set his dates to visit Bloomington.

Swartz will make his visit August 18-20, per Joe Tipton of On3.com. Swartz confirmed the dates with HoosierIllustrated.com.

In total, he has scheduled six visits to Miami, Georgia, Florida State, UConn and Virginia Tech — in that order following IU. The schools he’s considering are Indiana, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Notre Dame, UConn and Virginia Tech. He has already taken an official visit to Clemson.

Indiana offered Swartz in April following a breakout performance during the spring live periods. Playing for Boo Williams on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Swartz put on a terrific display during the first EYBL weekend, averaging 21.8 points per game. He was 16-of-33 (48.5 percent) from three on the weekend.

“Indiana is a great program for basketball,” Swartz told HoosierIllustrated of the IU offer. “They have put plenty of guys in the NBA. One name that comes to my mind is of course Jalen Hood-Schifino and how they have transformed him into an NBA (one-and-done) prospect.

“I was excited for sure. Indiana is a hell of a place to play basketball at.”

Swartz went on to average 21.0 points per game this season for Boo Williams — third most in the EYBL 17U division. He had nine 20+ point games and seven of at least 25 points.

He shot 37.2 percent during the season from three, averaging 3.0 made 3s per game. He had seven games with at least four made 3s.

Swartz can make 3s off of the dribble or as a spot up shooter. He uses screens very well off of the ball. He’s a 6-foot-5 guard who has a strong build and can get into the mid-range to find his shot.

“In terms of my skillset I can do both, play on or off the ball. Not only make shots for myself but also for my teammates,” Swartz said. “In terms of my scouting report, every knows I can score. One of my underrated things is my playmaking.”

Swartz is teammates with a priority 2024 target for Indiana as well in Jaeden Mustaf. Mustaf has already visited Indiana this summer.
