The Indiana football program capped off a terrific past week on the recruiting trail by landing a commitment from New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine tight end Hubert Caliste Jr.
Caliste Jr took an official visit to Indiana over the weekend.
He chose Indiana over offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Houston, Nebraska, Tulane, East Carolina and others. Florida State and East Carolina were the other programs near the top of his list.
At 6-foot-4 and 235-pounds, Caliste Jr has terrific size and frame. He can be used in the slot as a stand up tight end, or can came off of the line in a three-point stance. He has good quickness and does a great job finding space in between the defense. Most of his routes or intermediate routes but showed the ability to beat a linebacker on a double-move down the field.
Caliste Jr is also a standout basketball player for St. Augustine.
His father, Hubert Caliste, is a former San Diego State defensive back.
Caliste Jr is ranked the No. 53 tight end in the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also the No. 35 overall player in the state of Louisiana.
Caliste Jr becomes the 12th commitment for the Indiana football program. He joins Brody Kosin, Indiana’s other tight end commitment in the class.
