The Indiana football program has wrapped up spring practice and heads into the next phase of its offseason work. With an extremely important 2023 season ahead, there are still some questions surrounding the program.

Indiana is coming off of a 4-8 season in 2022. In 2019 and 2020, Indiana was 14-7. The past two seasons have resulted in just a 6-18 record.

So, 2023 is the time that Indiana needs to turn around the trend.

247Sports came out with its Big Ten projections for the 2023 season and it was rather bleak for the Indiana football program. 247Sports projected Indiana to finish the season at 3-9 overall and 1-8 in Big Ten play.

There’s a chance Indiana could play four top-10 opponents this season and may lose by multiple touchdowns to each of them,” Brad Crawford wrote. “The most important stretch is November, however, where there are three winnable contests to close out the season. It’s unlikely, but the Hoosiers are able to get hot and topple Illinois, Michigan State and Purdue, they’ll go bowling and start shifting this thing under Tom Allen in a positive direction.”

Here are the projected results:

Ohio State (Loss), Indiana State (Win), Louisville (Loss), Akron (Win), at Maryland (Loss), at Michigan (Loss), Rutgers (Win), at Penn State (Loss), Wisconsin (Loss), at Illinois (Loss), Michigan State (Loss), at Purdue (Loss)
