2025 five-star and Indiana basketball target Joson Sanon of Vermont Academy (Vt) will be visiting Bloomington sooner than expected.
A source tells HoosierIllustrated.com that Sanon will now be visiting Indiana December 16 for IU’s game against Kansas. Originally, his visit was scheduled for March 10.
Indiana basketball extended an offer to Sanon last month.
Sanon currently holds offers from over a dozen programs including Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma State, LSU, Arizona, Syracuse, Providence and others. According to recruiting insider Andrew Slater, Sanon visited Oklahoma State Oct. 27-29, Arizona from Nov. 18-20, LSU from Nov. 24-26 and also has a visit to Kansas from Dec. 21-23.
Sanon is ranked the No. 10 overall prospect in the 2025 class and the No. 2 small forward in the class.
Because of his play this summer, he was one of the biggest risers in the late summer rankings update.
“Capable of playing as a physically tough two guard or a small forward, Joson Sanon looks to be a guy that should be able to step in and make an immediate impact on the college level,” 247Sports National Recruiting Director Eric Bossi wrote. “For one, he already looks like a college wing with his lean strength, shoulders and size. Add in his ability to slash to the rim, improving ball handling and promise as a jump shooter and you can see why he’s emerged as one of the top wing prospects in the rising junior class.”
While Sanon is currently in the 2025 class, there has been some talk about a potential reclassification up to the class of 2024.
Both assistant coaches Kenya Hunter and Yasir Rosemond are heavily involved with Sanon’s recruitment.
Indiana basketball currently has one signee in the 2024 class with five-star wing Liam McNeeley. It is also involved with five-star center Derik Queen and four-star guard Daquan Davis.
