Per a report from ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, former Indiana basketball forward Trayce Jackson-Davis has agreed to a four-year deal with the Golden State Warriors, including two guaranteed seasons.

Jackson-Davis was selected with the No. 57 overall pick by the Golden State Warriors in the 2023 second round of the NBA draft.

“We think there is tremendous value there,” Mike Dunleavy said when drafting Trayce Jackson-Davis with the No. 57 pick. “Another guy we had pretty high on our board. Little surprised he made it that far.”

This season, Trayce Jackson-Davis averaged 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.9 blocks per game. He was a consensus First-Team All-American and unanimous First-Team All-Big Ten selection. He was also the Karl Malone Award winner for the top power forward in the country.

He finished his Indiana career as the program’s all-time leader in rebounds (1,143) and blocked shots (270) and was third in scoring (2,258) and double-doubles (50).

Jackson-Davis came back to Indiana after a positive Covid test popped up during the 2022 NBA Draft Combine. That turned out to be a huge turning point in his now-professional career.

When Jackson-Davis was drafted this year however, Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy had a plan all-along to put the former Hoosier on the main roster.

“Yeah that’s the plan, he will be on the regular, 15-man roster,” Dunleavy said. “Not sure that we will carry 15, but he will be on the main roster.”

Recently, it was shown that Trayce Jackson-Davis had his locker right next to NBA stars Steph Curry and Andrew Wiggins.

He will join Warriors players Kevon Looney and Draymond Green in the front court rotation for Golden State this season.

“Talking to our scouts, the guys who do this all year long, they loved his ability to make plays out of the pocket in pick-and-roll. So you can picture him setting a screen for Steph, you can picture Trayce setting a screen, rolling to the rim, catching a lob and finishing,” Kerr said of Jackson-Davis on ‘The Pull Up! Podcast’. “But also if they blitz Steph (Curry) for example, he can get into that short roll, catch and move the ball on like Draymond does so well. He’s a dribble hand-off guy, so if he’s trailing the play and you swing it to him he’s gonna be great dribbling to the weak side, DHO with Klay (Thompson) for a jumper, diving to the rim. He’s a traditional big, he’s an excellent rebounder, plays with force, runs the floor hard.”
