As it was reported yesterday via Senior Lead NBA Insider for The Athletic and Stadium Shams Charania, former Indiana and current Miami Heat guard Victor Oladipo suffered a season-ending torn patellar tendon in his left knee during game 3 of the first-round matchup between the Heat and Milwaukee Bucks.
In an update that released today via Shams Charania, there is optimism that Victor Oladipo will be able to resume basketball activities in six months and return to action next season. It was also reported that Oladipo is set to undergo surgery on his left knee this week.
This was yet another heartbreaking injury that the former Hoosier guard suffered during his near 11-year NBA career. Since the 2018-19 season, the two-time NBA All-Star has fought injury after injury it seems like. His most recent season-ending injury came during the 2021-22 season where he suffered a torn right quadriceps tendon that required surgery.
Oladipo re-signed with the Miami Heat this past offseason on a two-year, $18 million deal. He appeared in 42 total games for the Heat this season averaging 10.7 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game.
Since being drafted in 2013 by the Orlando Magic, the former Indiana guard Victor Oladipo has played for other teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, Houston Rockets, and now the Miami Heat. He has achieved being named an NBA All-Star twice (2018, 2019), All-NBA Third Team (2018), NBA All-Defensive First Team (2018), and many other accomplishments.
The Heat and Bucks will play in Game 4 of their series tonight at 7:30 ET on TNT. Miami leads 2-1.
