IU basketball sophomore forward Malik Reneau spoke with the media via Zoom on Thursday during a media availability.

Reneau discussed his freshman season, development this summer and expectations heading into year two in Bloomington.

Reneau is expected to see an increased role for the frontcourt of Indiana this upcoming season due to the departures of Trayce Jackson-Davis (NBA), Race Thompson (graduation), and Jordan Geronimo (transfer).

During his freshman season playing for Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers, Reneau appeared in all 35 games — three starts — for Indiana. Reneau averaged 6.1 points and 3.7 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game. He shot 55.3 percent (89-of-161) from the field.

Reneau was originally committed to play basketball at the University of Florida but after a coaching change, the Miami (Fla.) native re-opened his recruitment. During his visit with Indiana last year, Malik Reneau decided to join his Montverde Academy (Fla.) teammate Jalen Hood-Schifino and commit to play under Mike Woodson and the Hoosiers.
