The spring transfer portal window for college football is open and the Indiana football program is active in trying to add a few pieces to its roster.

One name that has emerged is Georgia transfer cornerback Marcus Washington Jr, per 247Sports Chris Hummer.

Among the programs to reach out since he entered the portal are: Indiana, North Carolina, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Arizona, Pittsburgh, Utah and others.

Washington Jr entered the transfer portal after playing just one season at Georgia. He redshirted his freshman season, playing in just one game and making one tackle.

Washington, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound Georgia native, was the No. 147 player in the 247Sports class of 2022 rankings. He was also the No. 21 overall cornerback in the class. He was originally part of the 2023 class before reclassifying up a year.

“I believe iron sharpens iron, and he’s going to go against the best of the best every day. So he’s going to get prepared for college football like no other kid in this country’s going to be able to because he gets to go against the best players more so than he would in high school,” Grovetown High School head coach Cory Evans previously said. “The fact he’s going to go ahead and get there, he’s going to be a year ahead of any kid just getting acclimated to college life.”

Marcus Washington Jr has four years of eligibility remaining.

The transfer window runs from April 15-30.

The Indiana football program wrapped up spring practice last week. Just a few days after, redshirt freshman cornerback Trevell Mullen announced his intention to enter the transfer portal.
