Indiana football lands commitment from EDGE Shamar Meikle

The Indiana football program has landed a commitment from Hollywood Miramar (Fla.) EDGE Shamar Meikle, who announced his pledge on Tuesday.

Meikle committed to Indiana over Toledo. He had other offers from Akron, Appalachian State, Bowling Green, Coastal Carolina, Kent State, Florida Atlantic and others. Indiana was Meikle’s only power five offer.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Meikle had 42 tackles (21 for loss) and 9.5 sacks as a junior last season.

Meikle is ranked the No. 88 edge in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the No. 170 rated player in the Florida.

Meikle becomes the 13th member of the Indiana football 2024 recruiting class.
