The Ben Davis Giants defeated the Center Grove Trojans in overtime, 37-34.

Indiana football four-star quarterback target Tyler Cherry has de-committed from Duke after originally committing in May.

Duke lost their head coach Mike Elko to Texas A&M last month, which opened the door for Cherry to flip his decision.

New Indiana football coach Curt Cignetti is looking to add another face to his quarterback room after adding Ohio transfer Kurtis Rourke in the portal, and his attention has turned to the Center Grove, (Ind) native.

The Indiana native threw for 3,156 yards with 34 touchdowns and six interceptions with a completion percentage of 71.5% in his senior season this fall.

In his junior season, Cherry led the Trojans to a State Championship, while throwing for 2,629 passing yards and 22 touchdowns, with only five interceptions with a 65.1% completion percentage.

Cherry is the 20th-ranked quarterback in the 247sports composite rankings and the 299th-ranked recruit in the 2024 class.

The 6-foot-5 205-pound quarterback visited with both Indiana football and Michigan State last week and had an in-home visit with both schools.

Cherry will now make his decision between the two schools and Duke, with a decision expected to come next week during the national signing period.

“Got to meet with Coach Cignetti, Coach Tino and Coach Shanahan and talk to those guys and talk football and it was a different feel down in Bloomington than before,” Cherry said about the new Indiana football staff.

Indiana football’s new staff has been hard at work bolstering the roster ahead of the 2024 season and a commitment from Tyler Cherry would be massive for the program.
