Indiana basketball is set to host two more four-stars for September official visits as the month continues to be jammed packed with prospect visits.
HoosierIllustrated.com was able to confirm that 2024 top-30 wing Annor Boateng of Little Rock Central (Ark.) will take an official visit to Indiana beginning on Sept 29.
On3 National Recruiting Expert Joe Tipton also reported that top-40 point guard Curtis Givens of Montverde Academy (FL) will take an official visit to Indiana on September 8. His Indiana visit will take place the same as his Montverde Academy teammates, five-stars Liam McNeeley and Derik Queen.
Boateng recently listed Indiana basketball in his final 8 schools this past month. Other schools listed were Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Missouri and Georgia Tech.
Indiana extended an offer to Boateng in April following the first live evaluation period. Brian Walsh and Jordan Hulls watched Boateng numerous times while playing for the Arkansas Hawks on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
He also spent one weekend playing with Team Griffin on the Nike EYBL Circuit. He averaged 18.5 points on 46 percent (23-of-50) shooting, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
Boateng is a 6-foot-6 wing who is extremely athletic and versatile. He plays with a high motor and is known for his hard-nose play and defensive ability. His offense has flashed throughout this summer, however. While he’s not a high-volume shooter from the perimeter, he shows good form and ability to be an effective three-point shooter.
Indiana center Kel’el Ware is from Little Rock originally and attended North Little Rock (Ark.).
Givens, on the other hand, listed Indiana basketball in his final 7 schools a few months ago. Other schools on his list included Georgia Tech, LSU, Memphis, Texas, UConn, and Villanova.
Givens is ranked No. 87 in the 247Sports class of 2024 Composite Rankings, No. 99 in the 2024 Rivals150, and No. 60 in the On3 2024 Top Basketball Recruits.
Givens plays for MoKan Elite AAU program on the Nike EYBL circuit and has looked very well in the first three sessions. He has easily been one of the bigger stock-risers on the EYBL circuit.
In 12 games on the EYBL circuit, Givens has averaged 17.8 points, 2.8 assists and shot 41.4% percent from the field.
Givens continues the trend of Indiana having ties with Montverde Academy due their success of bringing in Jalen Hood-Schifino and Malik Reneau as well as their continued recruitment of 2024’s Liam McNeeley and Derik Queen from the prestigious high school program.
“The conversation I had with Coach Ya (Yasir Rosemond) was a very good conversation,” Givens told HoosierIllustrated back in May. “He was telling me how much he loves my game and I remind him of Jalen Hood-Schifino. And he was also saying they have a good history of good guards and how they let their guards run the show. It’s really ideal for a point guard to be in that system with being given the keys to run the offense.”
As it stands right now, Indiana currently has five-stars Liam McNeeley and Derik Queen as well as four-stars Curtis Givens, Annor Boateng and Austin Swartz all scheduled for official visits in the month of September.
