The Indiana basketball program continues to make movement in the transfer portal and this time have another visit set with a key target.

Drexel senior center Amari Williams has set a visit with Indiana, according to on3.com’s Joe Tipton. The visit is expected to be April 19-20. Williams will be visiting with another key transfer target in Stanford guard Kanaan Carlyle.

Williams is a terrific defender and shot blocker — a key need for Indiana basketball at the center position. Williams averaged 12.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game this season. He had 10 double-digit rebound games and eight double-doubles this season.

Williams led the CAA in blocks for the third straight season and has averaged 1.8 blocks per game over the last three seasons. His block rate this season was 8.3 percent and for his career is 8.7 percent. For reference, Kel’el Ware had a 6.5 percent block rate this season and Trayce Jackson-Davis was 9.0 percent as a senior.

As a junior, Williams averaged 13.7 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. He led the nation in defensive rating and was 15th in blocks.

Williams has also been in the top-16 in the country in player efficiency rating in each of the last two seasons.

The 6-foot-10 and 230-pounder is also a terrific rebounder. He had a 12.8 percent offensive rebound rate this past year which was five percent higher than Ware’s this year and nearly three percent higher than Trayce Jackson-Davis during his senior season. As a junior Williams also ranked fifth in the nation in defensive rebound rate.

In four years, Williams has started 79 of 105 games played, including all 62 appearances the last two seasons.

Williams is also expected to visit Florida, St. John’s and Creighton.

He has one year of eligibility remaining. He is ranked as the No. 26 overall player and No. 5 center in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings.

Indiana basketball has six available scholarships remaining for the upcoming season.
