The Indiana basketball program is nearing the end of two major recurring battles and on Wednesday, it is putting a full-court press for one of them.

Sources confirmed to HoosierIllustrated.com that the entire Indiana basketball staff would be out to visit 2024 five-star guard Boogie Fland. College basketball insider Andrew Slater was the first to report the news.

The five-star guard recently trimmed his list to three programs; Indiana, Kentucky and Alabama. He took visits to Kentucky and Alabama this month. He took a visit to Indiana back in June.

This is the third trip that members of the Indiana basketball staff has made out to see Fland in the last month. A first trip was made by Mike Woodson and Yasir Rosemond in the middle of September. Then, just a week later, it was Rosemond who made another trip out to see Fland. Now, it’s the entire staff.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari and Alabama head coach Nate Oats went to see Fland earlier this week.

Sources told HoosierIllustrated that there is no firm ‘timeline’ on a decision, only that a decision would be made before the start of his senior season. The Archbishop Stepanic (NY) guard averaged 18.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals per game as a junior. He shot 34.6 percent from three (62-of-179). Playing for the PSA Cardinals on the Nike EYBL Circuit, Fland averaged 15.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assist per game during the regular season.

“Mike (Woodson) is great. He been around the NBA half his life but not only is he a good coach and basketball player but he is also a good person,” Fland told HoosierIllustrated.com earlier this summer. “He genuinely loves his players and he definitely could’ve stayed and worked as a head coach in the NBA but he wanted to have an impact on young men’s lives so they know what it takes to get to that next level and so that he can be apart of the process in guiding them to be the best they can be.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Full Ride Network college basketball insider Trilly Donovan — the official network of Hoosier Illustrated — handicapped Indiana as the leader in the recruitment, albeit by a minor margin. Here were his odds: Indiana +135, Kentucky +140, Alabama +240.

Fland is ranked the No. 20 overall player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
