The Indiana basketball coaching staff was out in force on Friday afternoon during the live evaluation period to see some key Indiana targets, including Greenfield-Central (Ind.) and Indiana Elite guard Braylon Mullins.

The Indiana staff was on hand at Carmel High School at the Charlie Hughes Invitational to see Mullins. Indiana assistant coach Yasir Rosemond was among numerous college coaches there.

Purdue head coach Matt Painter, Nevada head coach Steve Alford, Michigan head coach Dusty May and North Carolina assistant Sean May were among some of the notable names and schools in attendance.

Greenfield-Central went 0-2 on Friday, losing to Jefferson 71-60 in the first game of the day. Then, it was a 53-52 loss to Lawrence North in game two on a game-winning tip with six seconds left.

Mullins had 23 points in the first game and 22 in game two. He struggled with his shot a bit in the first game, making just two 3s. He came out firing in the second game, hitting four 3s in the first half, finishing with six for the game.

Mullins has a terrific release that is high and a quick flick. He struggled a bit creating space off of the dribble but was tremendous moving without the ball. He had some extremely deep 3s that were NBA range.

Mullins has improved as a playmaker and passer greatly.

Braylon Mullins has been one of the best players in the country this spring

Indiana basketball is at the top of Mullins’ recruitment. He has been to Bloomington numerous times and already has a senior year official visit scheduled. He will join fellow Indiana Elite teammates and Indiana basketball targets Trent Sisley and Malachi Moreno on a official visit the weekend of Sept. 20.

Mullins was the biggest riser in the 247Sports class of 2025 updated rankings, jumping 68 spots in their rankings up to No. 24 overall and the No. 5 overall shooting guard in the class. His massive boost was on the heels of a junior season when he averaged 25.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and shot 43 percent (61-of-143) from three. That was all while dealing with a back injury.

He then followed that up with a terrific spring that solidified his now top-25 rankings. He averaged 20.1 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game this spring for an undefeated Indiana Elite squad. He also shot 55.8 percent (96-of-172) from the field and 52.1 percent (50-of-96) from three.

During the evaluation process ahead of the updated rankings, 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein was ‘blown away’ by Mullins after multiple trips to see him in person.

“I was blown away by this guy when I saw Indiana Elite in (Adidas) 3SSB because not only is he a big-time shooter, but this guy’s got some stuff to him, as we say,” Finkelstein said on The College Basketball Show’ during the rankings reveal on Tuesday. “I mean, he is tough. He’s scrappy defensively. He’s got some lift at the rim. He checks a lot of boxes.”

Mullins has earned offers from UConn, North Carolina, Kansas, Tennessee, Alabama, Michigan State, Michigan, Purdue and others all during the spring.
