The Indiana basketball program is ready to begin a very busy fall recruiting period, headlined by numerous visits from high-profile prospects.

First on the docket is highly sought-after 2026 guard Jonathan Sanderson. Sanderson plays for Saline (Mich.) High School and Midwest Basketball Club on the Adidas AAU Circuit.

Sanderson is taking an unofficial visit to Indiana today, HoosierIllustrated.com was told.

Sanderson is one of the most talented guards in the 2026 class, holding high-major offers from Illinois, Iowa and Michigan already. He also has offers from Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Detroit and others.

Sanderson is the son of Michigan strength coach Jon Sanderson.

As a freshman, Sanderson averaged 19.3 points and 4.0 assists per game. He shot 46 percent from three.

He made AP All-State second team this season and was the lone freshman on the list.

“He’s an impressive looking guard,” 247Sports National Recruiting Director Eric Bossi wrote earlier this summer. “Not surprisingly he’s got a great looking frame with lean strength and he moves really well. Sanderson is a skilled scorer from deep and in traffic and also shows some nifty passing instincts.”
