The Indiana basketball program extended scholarship offers to a trio of 2026 prospects over the weekend.

2026 five-star wing Jalen Montonati, hybrid wing Anthony Thompson and hybrid forward Alex Smith were all on campus for Indiana’s Sunday afternoon matchup against Northwestern and all received offers during their visit.

Montonati was the biggest name out of the trio. From Owasso (Ok.), Montonati is a 6-foot-7 wing who already holds offers from Kansas, Arkansas, Michigan, Tennessee, Kansas State, Iowa and others.

Already Montonati has taken unofficial visits to Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.

“A multi-skilled big wing type, Montonati demonstrated excellent accuracy from three-point range and great touch when getting to his spots to score in the mid-range,” 247Sports National Analyst Brandon Jenkins wrote last year. “There is not any wasted motion with his game as he projects to be an efficient fundamentally sounded prospect who is consistently productive.”

Montonati is currently ranked as the No. 9 in the 247Sports composite rankings.

Anthony Thompson is another 6-foot-7 wing from Lebanon (Oh.) who holds offers from high major programs like Illinois, Cincinnati, Ohio State as well as numerous mid-major programs.

Thompson has taken visits to Illinois and Miami (Oh.) at this point in his recruitment.

He’s a versatile wing who should turn into a tremendous two-way player at the next level. He has great length and athleticism. Currently, Thompson is unranked in the 2026 class.

The third prospect on campus who earned an offer was Upper Arlington (Oh.) hybrid forward Alex Smith. Smith is a 6-foot-8 big who holds offers from Bryant, Toledo and Ohio. The Indiana basketball program is his first high major offer. He has taken visits to Ohio State, Illinois, USC and West Virginia.

Smith is a long, athletic and quick forward who can play both on the perimeter and inside the paint. He has a nice shooting stroke that opens up his game. Smith also has good ball handling ability that allows him to take advantage of many mismatches offensively.

Smith is unranked in the 2026 class at this point.
