The Indiana basketball program extended a scholarship offer to 2025 forward Preston Copeland on Sunday night.
Copeland is from Raleigh Christian Academy (NC) and Garner Road AAU program on the Adidas 3SSB circuit.
Copeland received the official offer following an unofficial visit to Indiana on Sunday. He currently has offers from Nebraska, Georgetown, East Carolina, College of Charleston,
The 6-foot-8 forward has been an impressive prospect during the spring and early summer events.
“Right now I’m really working on expanding my game and getting stronger,” Copeland recently told 247Sports of his game. “I’ve been in the gym a lot and trying to develop myself. That’s really the biggest thing for me right now. I’m happy with where my game is, but I know I can always be better.”
Copeland’s father, Ike, played at East Carolina in the early 90s. Isaac Copeland — the older brother of Preston — played for Georgetown and Nebraska during his college career. Indiana basketball assistant coach Kenya Hunter was on staff for Georgetown during Copeland’s recruitment and was on staff at Nebraska during Copeland’s stop there.
