2024 five-star wing Liam McNeeley has been a priority target for the Indiana basketball program for quite some time. Now, his recruitment is taking another step forward.

On Saturday night, McNeeley announced he had narrowed his recruitment down to six programs. That included Indiana, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Michigan and Alabama.

McNeeley plays for Montverde Academy (Fla) and Florida Rebels on the Nike EYBL Circuit this summer.

In both the high school and summer circuits, McNeeley has shown he is one of the most versatile and skilled offensive players. He can play both on and off of the ball and produce at a high level with both shot creating and  shot making ability. At this point, he is the clear option to run an offense through with his shot making skills but also his ability to make plays for his teammates.

Shooting is McNeeley’s best asset. He is a high volume shot maker. At Montverde this season he averaged 13.7 points and was second in the NIBC averaging 2.2 made 3s per game.

This summer on the Nike EYBL Circuit, McNeeley is averaging 15.8 points and shooting 41.7 percent from three. He is 25-of-60 from three this summer in 13 games.

McNeeley was terrific in Session Four last weekend in Memphis. He averaged 25.6 points per game and was 15-of-30 from three.

The 6-foot-7 wing has already visited the Indiana basketball program — a junior year official visit. Now, he’s looking at a return visit for a senior year official.

Indiana basketball has always stood out near the top for McNeeley.

“Indiana is obviously a historic basketball state, and the fans in indiana almost worship basketball,” McNeeley previously told HoosierIllustrated.com. “Love from the fans make me feel wanted.”

Indiana basketball head coach Mike Woodson has prioritized versatility and true shot makers on the perimeter in his system. That has been the clear message from Indiana to McNeeley.

“They emphasized me being a bigger guard and being versatile. Coming off ball screens or posting up smaller defenders and moving the ball in transition.” McNeeley said.

McNeleey is ranked No. 7 overall in the 2024 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the top overall small forward in the class.
