Live, running blog of Indiana basketball vs the Oregon Ducks in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament.

Indiana University begins postseason play in the 125th season of competition in men’s basketball against No. 23 Oregon in the second-round of the Big Ten Tournament at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The eighth-seeded Ducks enter the game with a record of 23-8 (12-8 Big Ten) under 15th-year head coach Dana Altman. Oregon is led by All-Big Ten Third Team selection Nate Bittle who averaged 14.1 points, 7.3 points, and 2.2 blocks per game in the regular season. Sophomore guard Jackson Shelstad was second on the team with 13.3 points per game, while senior guard TJ Bamba added 10.2 points and was a All-Big Ten Defensive Team selection. Senior guard Keeshawn Barthelemy also averages double-figures (10.2) for Oregon.

Tipoff is set for Noon ET on BTN.

First half

Indiana basketball wins the tip and we are off!

Ballo turns the ball over and Oregon scores first. Another turnover from Indiana  and the Ducks score again.

Leal gets Indiana on the board. Hoosiers force a turnover and Mgbako scores.

Mgbako hits a three and Hoosiers take the lead. Oregon would hit a three and tie it at 7.

Galloway three and the Hoosiers back on top. Oregon turns the ball over.

Oregon turns the ball over and we go to break.

Indiana leads 10-9 with 15:29 to go in the first half.

Starters still on the floor for the Hoosiers.

Leal and Goode both muss some shots. Leal stole the ball.

Mgbako to Galloway for the easy score off an inbounds play.

Galloway to Ballo. Hoosiers up 14-9.

Reneau and Rice in for Ballo and Leal. Malik Reneau comes in right away and scores through the foul contact. He would hit the free throw.

Carlyle in for Mgbako.

Oregon cuts it to a 4-point IU lead.

Indiana turns it over and we go break. Indiana leads 17-13 with 11:37 left in the half. 

Leal back in.

Oregon cuts the lead to just 17-15. Hoosiers have gone a little cold.

Ballo in for Goode. Hoosiers going with the two-big lineup this next stretch.

Reneau misses a three but Leal got the rebound. Rice found a lane and dished it to Ballo for the slam.

Hoosiers force a turnover. Reneau can’t get a bucket to drop.

Indiana basketball back up 21-15.

Oregon cuts it to 21-20.

Oregon ties it at 23 and we go to break. 

Goode back in for Reneau. Was much needed, Reneau was struggling to guard the wing.

Ballo picks up an offensive foul.

Oregon takes the lead back. Up 1.

Mgabko hits a step back jumper on the baseline. Hoosiers back up.

Ballo gets found. We are tied at 27 with 3:42 left. 

Ballo goes 0-2 at the line out of the break.

Oregon up 37-29 now. 10-0 Ducks run.

Galloway could not get a three to drop at the buzzer.

At the half: Oregon 37, Indiana basketball 29

Second half

Starters on the floor. Indiana basketball with the ball.

Leal scores with an assist from Goode.

Galloway gets called for a foul. Hoosiers got a stop, however.

Galloway floater cuts the lead down to 4. Place is getting loud.

6-0 run by Indiana to start the half and Oregon calls timeout. Doing exactly what they needed to do.

Hoosiers get another stop. Galloway turns it over, however.

Mgbako misses a baseline jumper. Leal gets a steal but can’t convert to anything.

Oregon puts the lead back up to 4.

Ballo turnover. Leal then picks up a foul. Oregon extends lead to 41-35.

Reneau cuts it to 4 again.

Oregon leads 31-37 with 15:26 left. 

Galloway scores through contact and converts at the Line. Hoosiers down 1.

Refs missed a goal tend by Oregon. Ducks extend the lead to 45-40.

Mike Woodson calls timeout at the 13:19 mark.

Mgbao hits a much-needed three. Hoosiers down 4.

Big applaud from the fans to the refs for finally giving IU a chance at the line. Reneau goes 2-2. Hoosiers down 2.

Oregon pushes the lead back up to 5.

Reneau cuts it down to 3. Made a tough layup.

Myles Rice forces Oregon to burn a timeout. Ducks lead 50-47 with 10:22 left. 

Oregon scores out of the break. Indiana turns it over.

Oregon back up 7.

Galloway hits a three to cut it 4.

Rice to Reneau and the lead is cut down to 2.

Leal gets a huge defensive rebound and is fouled. We go to break.

Oregon leads 56-54 with 7:18 left. 

Goode misses a three. Oregon hits one. Hoosiers would turn it over.

Mgbako misses a baseline jumper. Hoosiers would force a shot clock violation. Mgbako with the block.

Leal goes to the line but misses the front end of a 1 and 1.

Oregon back up 7.

Leal would get fouled again. He would miss the front end again but Ren got the rebound.

Oregon leads 61-54 with 3:06 left. 

Shelstad makes two free throws out of the break and Ballo turns it over.

Shelstad buries another jumper and Indiana takes a timeout.

Oregon leads 65-54 with 2:13 left. 

Galloway finds Reneau for a layup to the cut the deficit to 9.

Mgbako knocks down a jumper but its not gonna be enough as Indiana is forced to foul to try and extend the game.

Shelstad makes both FTs to extend the lead to 12.

Luke Goode is fouled on a put back and goes 1-2 at the line.
