Former Indiana basketball standout forward Trayce Jackson-Davis has yet to make his debut for the Golden State Warriors in Summer League play and may have to wait until the regular season until he sees the court.
Jackson-Davis, who was selected 57th overall in last month’s draft, has been dealing with a ‘sore hamstring’ that kept him out of the California Classic Summer League earlier this week.
The Warriors make their Vegas Summer League appearance Friday night, but Jackson-Davis isn’t expected to play.
“He’s getting some work done on the side with Seth Cooper. I think it’s getting better, it’s just a day-to-day thing,” ” Warriors summer league head coach Jacob Rubin said following shootaround on Friday. “He has a sore hamstring, so we’re just going to bring him along.”
In Vegas, the Warriors are guaranteed four games. Games are scheduled for Friday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday. After that, their record will determine where they place in the single-elimination play.

It was announced earlier this week that Jackson-Davis signed a four-year deal with the Warriors, with two years guaranteed. He is fully expected to be on the full 15-man roster come the start of the season.
Because of that, the Warriors are bringing the 6-foot-9 forward along slowly.
There is no expectation that he plays over the course of the next week.
“If he plays in summer league, great,” Rubin continued. “We definitely miss him out there. If not, then he’ll be ready for us for the regular season. So, just a day-by-day thing. He’s looking better, for sure.”
Jackson-Davis averaged 20.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.9 blocks per game. He was a consensus First-Team All-American.
“We think there is tremendous value there,” Mike Dunleavy said when drafting Trayce Jackson-Davis with the No. 57 pick. “Another guy we had pretty high on our board. Little surprised he made it that far.”
The Warriors take on the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night at 11 pm ET.
