The Indiana football program has added another piece to their defense with the commitment of defensive lineman CJ West.
West announced his commitment to the Hoosiers via X/Twitter.
West spent four years with Kent State and appeared in 39 games during this career. He totaled 110 tackles, 19.5 tackles for a loss, and seven sacks for his career.
He was a 2023 All-MAC selection and ranked as the top uncommitted defensive lineman and No. 10 available player in the transfer portal. This past season West had 40 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks.
West chose Indiana over Michigan, Wisconsin, Rutgers, LSU, Florida State and others.
After losing Philip Blidi in the Spring, the addition of West will help bolster the defensive line for Indiana football.
Curt Cignetti has been extremely busy in the Spring transfer portal adding a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball.
With one year of eligibility left, the 6-foot-2 330-pound defensive lineman will likely make an immediate impact with Indiana football.
