2025 four-star Indiana basketball center target Malachi Moreno has officially set a return unofficial visit. This will be the third recorded unofficial Indiana visit for Moreno.

The return visit is set for September 2nd, he confirms to HoosierIllustrated.com. According to The Portal Report’s Ethan Bock, he also has visits set up with Arkansas, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Tennessee in the month of September.

His visit takes place the same day as Indiana football’s season opening home game vs No. 3 Ohio State.

Indiana offered Moreno in October of 2022. Along with the listed visits, schools such as Purdue, Kentucky, Missouri, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Iowa, Xavier, Arkansas, NC State, and other are also involved in his recruitment.

Listed at 7-foot-1, Moreno is one of the rising bigs in the 2025 class nationally. During his sophomore year at Great Crossing High School (KY), he averaged 14.8 points, 11.2 rebounds and 4.8 blocks per game. He also shot 64% from the field overall and 62% from the free throw line.

Moreno also plays for Indiana Elite 2025 as part of the Adidas 3SSB circuit. He is teammates with fellow 2025 Indiana basketball recruiting targets Braylon Mullins (Sept. 19 visit), Dezmon Briscoe and key 2025 target, four-star power forward Trent Sisley (Sept. 23 visit).

Moreno is ranked the No. 50 overall in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Below are scouting notes of Malachi Moreno from HoosierIllustrated.com plus highlights.

When looking at true, athletic bigs that have great length, Moreno fits that description. While his frame and weight aren’t the strongest points of his game, his athletic ability and footwork make him excellent around the basket. He is not someone that can go out and stretch the floor consistently right now, but he is a great pick-and-roll big that loves to finish above the rim. There is still a good amount of areas in his game that need to hit that next level and improve on, but when Mike Woodson starts looking at adding size from the 2025 class, Moreno is an intriguing option.
