As first reported by On3 National Recruiting Expert Joe Tipton, 2024 top-30 wing Tyler Betsey listed Indiana basketball in final 7 schools.

The other schools also listed include: Duke, Alabama, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Creighton, and Villanova.

Betsey is a 6-foot-8 wing who is ranked No. 22 in the 247Sports composite rankings for the 2024 class. He is rated as the No. 8 small forward.

He took an official visit to Indiana earlier this summer in June. He has visited Creighton UConn as well with visits scheduled for Duke, Alabama, and Cincinnati.

No visit is currently scheduled for Villanova at this time.

Tyler Betsey, who goes to St. Thomas More (CT), played for NY Ren as part of the Nike EYBL circuit along with fellow 2024 Indiana target Dylan Harper, who visited Indiana last fall.

Betsey is averaged 11.6 points this summer in 16 games for NY Ren. He’s shot 35.1 percent from three on 2.5 made 3s per game. He was 40-of-114 this summer from three. He’s had four games with at least four made 3s.

He was recently named to the All-Underclass team at Nike EYBL Peach Jam back in July.

“The visit was great. I would honestly say it was my best visit so far,” Tyler Betsey told Rivals Basketball Recruiting Director Rob Cassidy earlier this summer about his Indiana visit. “They were all super comfortable with my family. It was almost like we were all family. We were all comfortable with Mike Woodson and the staff. It was great. They just talked to me about how they would make a plan for me. They kept talking about how they like the way I shoot and how my shooting could take me anywhere.”

At his position, he has the elite combination of size and length which makes him a very hard player to defend especially once he finds his rhythm in a game. He has made great improvements as both as a defender and shot creator over the past few years.

At this point, there is no timetable on a commitment decision for Betsey.
