Mustaf visited Indiana in June. The style of play and the development of former Indiana basketball guard Jalen Hood-Schifino have been two parts of the IU program that have stood out.
“Everything he (Mike Woodson) does is NBA style. NBA style practices, their style of play is more towards the NBA way and that’s my ultimate goal to have a successful career in the league,” Mustaf told HoosierIllustrated following his visit. “He’s been in the NBA for 30+ years either coaching or playing and they had (Jalen) Hood-Schifino last year who is pretty similar to myself so to see what he did and what I could do was intriguing.”
“I already had very high interest in Indiana and it only grew higher after the visit.”
Mustaf is a 6-foot-4 guard who can play both on and off of the ball. He’s a terrific slashing guard who can get into the paint and is fearless attacking the basket. He had seven games this summer with at least 10+ made free throws. Mustaf is a good shooter, but is better getting into he paint and creating around the rim.
“I’m a versatile player, so I can play on and off the ball, more so on the ball at point guard,” Mustaf said. “But there’s times when I can play off the ball and I can be effective with and without the ball, so I think I’d be able to fit in good.”
Mustaf has one final visit currently set up, that is to Maryland Sept. 1 – 3.
