Indiana football bounced back from its first loss of the season in a major way by dominating Purdue 66-0 in the snow.

The Hoosiers finished the regular season 11-1 with their only loss coming on the road to Ohio State.

Last week Indiana football found themselves ranked No. 10 after the loss but moved up to No. 9 in the newest College Football Playoff rankings.

The Hoosiers are currently the 10th seed and would be matched up with No. 5 Ohio State if the standings stay the same after conference championship games.

Georgia will face Texas in the SEC Championship and will have the opportunity to earn a first-round bye.

Indiana moving up a spot in the rankings, comes after 10-2 Miami lost their final game of the season to Syracuse and dropped to No. 12. The Hoosiers still remain behind two loss Ohio State, who was beaten by their rivals Michigan this past week.

Indiana Football is also ranked No. 9 in both the AP poll and the coaches poll.

Seeds 1-4 of the College Football Playoff are the highest-rated conference champions, receiving a first-round bye, and then seeds 5-8 receive a home game in the first round.

The playoff field is determined by the five highest-ranked conference champions — the power four leagues and the highest group of five champions. They each receive an automatic bid. The Group of Five champion will be seeded at No. 12, if it is not among the top 12 teams in the final poll.
