The Indiana basketball program had a heavy presence of former players on campus on Friday and could have that same group in the crowd for its game against Northwestern on Sunday.

Former Indiana All-American’s Trayce Jackson-Davis and D.J. White were among numerous players including Miller Kopp and Race Thompson that were at IU’s practice on Friday afternoon.

With the NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis, a heavy dose of former player are back in the area for the weekend festivities.

Jackson-Davis, selected 57th overall in this past year’s NBA Draft, has had an up-and-down rookie season. He’s averring 6.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and shooting 68.6 percent from the floor in 12.9 minutes a game. His best month was in December when he nearly averaged a double-double in nine games — 9.6 points and 7.1 rebounds a game. He had three double-doubles and six games scoring in double-figures that month.

One of the most decorated Hoosiers in Indiana basketball program history, this would be his first game back since graduating last May.

As for White — the other All-American out of the group – the former Big Ten Player of the Year as well has been in and around Bloomington at times since his final year in 2008. He played 13 seasons professionally between in the NBA and overseas.

Miller Kopp spent two years in Bloomington after three with Northwestern. Currently, he’s averaging 9.7 points and shooting 34.2 percent from three with the Oklahoma City Thunder G-League team.

Race Thompson has been rehabbing from a knee injury he suffered this summer that caused him to miss the NBA Summer League. Thompson has been a frequent visitor in Bloomington this year and has been doing a lot of his rehab at Indiana as well.

Indiana faces Northwestern on Sunday at 3:00 pm ET on FS1.
