Former Indiana basketball star Trayce Jackson-Davis has had a busy past 48 hours. On Friday, it was announced that Jackson-Davis was getting assigned to the Warriors’ G-League affiliate, Santa Cruz Warriors. Then, barely 24 hours later, Jackson-Davis was making his way back to the Warriors roster after getting recalled from Santa Cruz.

The reason behind it? It was a simple answer.

“I think our young fellas not being here, Trayce and [Brandin Podziemski] and Lester [Quinones], the energy that they bring to this team — we missed that,” Warriors forward Draymond Green told reporters on Friday night. “Next time we have an In-Season Tournament game, we need those guys here, because they bring a lot of juice for us.

“They do every single day. I wasn’t overly shocked our energy wasn’t there because they are the guys that lift our energy level and they weren’t here.”

Green was referencing the Warriors lack of energy in their 141-139 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first game of the NBA in-season tournament.

It took a game-winner from Steph Curry with 0.2 seconds left to lift the Warriors to a win.

Trayce Jackson-Davis has appeared in two games for the Warriors this season and is averaging 6.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Jackson-Davis scored his first career NBA points against the New Orleans Pelicans last week when he had 13 points and nine rebounds in 20 minutes.

The Warriors hit the court again on Sunday at 6:00 pm against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
