The Indiana basketball program is moving quickly with one key transfer target, with a visit already set up.
Illinois transfer wing Luke Goode entered the transfer portal on Monday and he confirmed with HoosierIllustrated.com that he has a visit set up with Indiana basketball on Thursday and Friday this week. Jeff Rabjohns of 247Sports had the initial report.
The 6-foot-7 sharpshooter had his most successful season last year as a junior, averaging 5.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and shooting 38.9 percent from three in 20.1 minutes per game. He made 1.6 3s a game and 61 for the season. Goode led Illinois this past year in three-point percentage and was second in made 3s.
His 61 made 3s ranked 15th in the Big Ten this season.
“All Luke does is want to win,” Illinois head coach Brad Underwood said during their NCAA Tournament run. “He’s continued to work and accept whatever role has been his. He’s had a four- or five-game stretch where he really fought and ankle sprain and some knee tendonitis and didn’t play as much. He’s that guy who can fill any role. He’s versatile, can play multiple positions and he’s the consummate glue guy.”
Goode played in 76 games across three seasons at Illinois and shot 38.8 percent from three. He made 85 3s in his career.
Indiana basketball has a significant need for shooting and Goode is exactly the type of player that can pair well with some of the other pieces on the roster. Indiana shot just 32.4 percent from three last year, ranking 273rd nationally. Its 15.5 attempts per game ranked 355th nationally. Just 20.9 percent of Indiana’s points came by 3s — also 355th nationally.
Goode is a true spot up shooter, with 87.7 percent of his shot attempts this season came from three. He only attempted 22 twos.
Goode has one year of eligibility remaining.
