The Indiana basketball program fell to No. 11 Wisconsin on Friday night 91-79 and while the score tells one story, it doesn’t tell the entire story.

The lack of discipline, leadership and pride for Indiana once again fell by the wayside in the loss — highlighted by another flagrant foul and ejection.

With 12:42 left in the second half, Indiana basketball guard CJ Gunn was ejected for elbowing Wisconsin guard Max Klesmit in the face. Both players were on stranding on the wing waiting for the ball to cross half court when the incident happened. Indiana was down 61-44 at that point.

Announcer Robbie Hummel had harsh comments following the play.

“Their program is better than this,” Hummel said on the broadcast. “This is not what they are about. I don’t know why they continue to do this.”

This comes just three games after the Flagrant two and ejection from Xavier Johnson against Rutgers when he had a close-handed fist punch to the groin of Rutgers forward Antwone Woolfolk.

Xavier Johnson also had a flagrant foul against Purdue when he forearm shoved Zach Edey in the paint.

Payton Sparks was also called for a hook and hold flagrant foul against Purdue as well.

Longtime radio broadcaster for the Hoosiers, Don Fischer, added his feelings as well during the Wisconsin game.

“I’m going to say something I’ve never said on air in 51 years,” Fischer said. “I’m embarrassed for this team. Not because of the score.”

Indiana has now dropped its fourth game in the last six.

Overall, Indiana basketball has lost its seven games this season by an average of 15.7 points per game.
