The spring portion of the AAU season is well underway and the 2023 Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam took place over the weekend in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Multiple Indiana targets participated in this event with one of them being top Indiana 2024 four-star guard target Jonathan Powell, who is playing for Midwest Basketball Club 2024 this season as part of the Adidas 3SSB circuit.

Sisley, Centerville High School (OH), has been one of the primary targets for Mike Woodson and Indiana when it comes to the 2024 class and recently listed Indiana in his final six schools

Other schools listed in his final six include: Michigan State, Ohio State, Xavier, Virginia Tech, and Clemson.

Powell was also high school teammates with 2023 Indiana signee Gabe Cupps.

Over the weekend, Powell showed why he one of the more pure scorers in the 2024 class. With a mixture of size and sneaky athleticism, he can score both off the dribble and outside at a high rate. In the two games we saw, Powell had an unofficial total of 25 points.

Hoosier Illustrated was able to catch up with 2024 guard Jonathan Powell after one of his games over the weekend where he discussed his recruitment, Indiana, his goals for this AAU season, what advice Gabe Cupps has given him, and much more.
