Indiana football welcomes in Michigan State to Memorial Stadium on Saturday for its senior day.

With just two games left in the season, Indiana is 3-7 overall and 1-6 in Big Ten play. The Spartans are the only other one-win team in league play.

Despite no bowl game for either program, this is a trophy game — a battle for the Old Brass Spittoon. Indiana won the trophy last season with a double-overtime victory.

Does that give the Spartans a different level of excitement for this Saturday?

“You know, I haven’t even looked at it in that perspective. It’s a new year, they have a new team, we have a new team, so I never come from that perspective like that,” MSU interim head coach Harlon Barnett said. “It’s more of let’s get better, let’s play hard, finish, and let’s try to get a win. No, it hasn’t been a motivational thing based on what happened last year, that was us not finishing. We have to finish.”
