It appears the changes continue for Indiana football ahead of a critically important 2024 season.

On Monday during IU’s photo day, the program displayed new red jerseys.

Some of the noticeable changes are a larger ‘Indiana’ font and numbers with no black trim around the lettering. The overall sticking looks ‘cleaner’ overall.

Indiana has tested out a few jerseys over the last few years, in red, white and black. The new black jerseys debuted last season.

The jerseys are in addition to an adjusted student section inside Memorial Stadium, additional club seating around the stadium and new turf inside Mellencamp Pavilion — IU’s indoor facility. That all comes as the NIL pool for recruiting has expanded as well.

Indiana is making an investment, both financially and in additional support, to the football program ever since the hiring of Curt Cignetti. Cignetti has been adamant in changing the culture surrounding Indiana football and the recent memory.

All of these details, big or small, show that Cignetti and the rest of the administration are on the same page in making sure Indiana football and its brand change heading into 2024.

“We’re going to change the culture, the mindset, the expectation level, and improve the brand of Indiana Hoosier football,” Cignetti said when he was introduced as head coach. “There will be no self-imposed limitations on what we can accomplish. It will be a day-by-day process that is hinged on being focused on the present moment and improving as much daily as possible to put yourself in the best position tomorrow.”

The Curt Cignetti era at Indiana will officially begin on Aug. 31 at home against Florida International.

“We got to change the way people think about Indiana,” Cignetti said during his National Signing Day press conference. “We’ve been adamant that, look, we’re going to win and we’re going to win this year and we’re going to change the brand and the expectation level and the way people see Indiana football.”
