Just when you thought Indiana basketball was out when it comes to the 2024 high school class, the Hoosiers pull you right back in. Mike Woodson and his Indiana basketball program won’t have to wait too much longer when it comes to a key 2024 five-star target and his college decision.

As first reported by ESPN’s Paul Biancardi, 2024 five-star wing and McDonald’s All-American Bryson Tucker is expected to make his college decision in April. This news is significant as Tucker is coming off of a on-campus official visit this week in Bloomington.

“Indiana’s play style fits me,” Bryson Tucker told Paul Biancardi. “I have no other visits set up right now. I will make my decision in April.”

Tucker, who plays for Bishop O’Connell (Va.), has also taken official visits to both Michigan State and Kansas, as well. Tucker was originally thought as a player would forgo college and play for the NBA G-League Ignite team before the team disbanded earlier this year.

Tucker is a 6-foot-7 versatile wing who can play on the perimeter and in the paint. Because he doesn’t play travel over the summer, there are limited times where he is matched up against top-end competition nationally. One of those events is the NBPA Top 100 camp. This year, he was a standout performer averaging 19.2 points on 64.3 percent shooting.

As a member of the 2021 USA Basketball U16 National Team, Tucker averaged 9.5 points and 4.3 rebounds. Team USA went 6-0 and won the Gold Medal.

Tucker would be the fourth straight player to commit to play for Mike Woodson and Indiana basketball in the spring with Tamar Bates, Malik Reneau, and Mackenzie Mgbako coming before him. It would be the second straight season Indiana basketball has a McDonald’s All-American on it’s roster.

Tucker is ranked the No. 20 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He is the No. 7 small forward in the 2024 class.
