The Indiana basketball program will be without a starteing guard when it takes the floor on Tuesday night against Sam Houston State.
Indiana sophomore guard Kanaan Carlyle will miss his second straight game, according to Mike Woodson. Carlyle has missed the last two days of practice after sitting out Friday’s win over Providence.
Woodsons didn’t describe the extent of his injury but said he ‘hopes’ to have his sophomore guard back in the lineup soon.
Carlyle was labeled as day-to-day when the Hoosiers returned from The Bahamas.
The 6-foot-3 guard has struggled to find a rhythm with Indiana this season, averaging 4.5 points on 27 percent shooting and 25 percent from three. Carlyle’s best game this season — and only game scoring in double figures — was against South Carolina. He had 12 points on 5-of-9 from the floor in 24 minutes.
The other five games he’s combined for just 15 points on 5-of-28 from the field.
He’s also been held scoreless in two games.
Indiana basketball takes on Sam Houston State at 7:30 pm on Tuesday night.
