Jah Jah Boyd — former highest commit in JMU history — announces pledge to Indiana football

The Indiana football program continues to pick up steam on the recruiting trip as another former James Madison commit is following the former staff to Bloomington,

This time is was Roman Catholic (Pa.) prospect Jah Jah Boyd who made the call for Indiana on Monday afternoon. Boyd was the highest-rated commit in James Madison history.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound athlete is a two-way player who had been recruited at JMU for both cornerback and wide receiver. It is likely that he will be used defensively in the secondary for Indiana.

This season he totaled 11 receptions for 196 yards and one touchdown. He had 15 tackles, four pass deflections, one interception and one tackle for loss.

He is clocked at running a 4.6 – 40 yard dash time.

Boyd originally picked JMU over offers from programs like Penn State, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Boston College, Liberty, Akron and others. Following the re-opening of his recruitment, Indiana and Pitt emerged as the two programs as likely destinations.

He took an official visit to Indiana two weekends ago and his final official visit to Pitt this past weekend.

Boyd is rated the No. 122 safety in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and the No. 35 player in Pennsylvania.
