Sophomore guard Gabe Cupps will likely miss the remainder of the season for IU basketball, head coach Mike Woodson announced on Monday.
Cupps, who underwent knee surgery for a meniscus injury last week, will ‘probably redshirt this season’ added Woodson on his weekly radio show.
The sophomore guard hasn’t played since Nov. 29 and has appeared in just four games this season. He has played just 25 minutes this year and has yet to score.
Cupps appeared in 33 games as a freshman, including 22 starts, averaging 2.6 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.
Cupps was a four-star guard out of Centerville (Oh.).
IU basketball has been without both sophomore guard Kanaan Carlyle and redshirt freshman Jakai Newton at times this year with injuries.
Indiana has a week off between its game at Nebraska last Friday and the next time it takes the court, on Saturday against Tennessee-Chattanooga.
Indiana is 8-3 overall and 1-1 in Big Ten play.
