Myles Price | WR | SR +

On his process watching film…

MP: I like to start off watching games, I might pick a game to watch. Then, after that, we have a lot of different cut ups that we will put in our folders and click through them and see the explosives, what have they been hit on? When we get the script, I like to go through the script and see formations that are similar to teams they have played, and I like to (ask) okay how would they line up to this? Okay, they do this, and I can do this. Just finding different ways to gain an edge.

On what stands out to him about Ke’Shawn (Williams)…

MP: He plays hard every play and does all the right things, [he’s] very competitive.

On sharing the ball from a receiver’s point of view…

MP: It’s about winning at the end of the day. When you win, everybody gets looked at. When you look at all those teams that go on to win championships, they have like 15-20 players that may get drafted, and that’s because they’re winning. So, it’s bringing more attention, it’s bringing more eyes. So, that’s how we look at it, we just continue to win. At the end of the day, if it’s in God’s plan it’s in his plan, so I just let that work itself out.

On what has been the key to the 4-0 start…

MP: Stacking days. That’s what it’s about. It started way back in January when I got here. You start stacking days, and when you stack days you stack weeks, you stack weeks, you stack months and that leads on a year, here we are now.

On the impact of large crowds at Memorial Stadium…

MP: I wouldn’t say we focus on it; I mean I would love to play in front of a bigger crowd. Because at [Texas Tech], their fans were amazing. They were crazy, wild. It made it hard for teams to come in there and play at our homestay. Coming here, it’s been different. It hasn’t been as packed, but it’s been loud. It has been a little loud now.

Ke’Shawn Williams | WR | Sr.+

On having patience in the wide receivers room…

KW: If you’ve watched over my career, I’ve been in crowded receiving rooms since I’ve been in college. I’ve been surrounded by great receivers, and being a fifth year guy it’s definitely challenging, but you know if I don’t go about it the right way I don’t do anything but hurt myself and I hurt the team, so me doing the right thing while waiting for my turn allows me to be successful and help the team win games once I got out there. It was tough, but I have a great support system around me team wise, coaches, family, friends that help me stay humble, stay down and wait for my turn.

On having patience early on in his career…

KW: It was easy to understand just knowing I was a younger guy, and the guys in front of me were a lot older, more experienced, had more reps under their belt, so it was easier to understand back then. That I had to be patient and wait my turn.

On being understanding of other players wanting the ball…

KW: It’s not as difficult when you’re a guy that is about the team, and you want to see the team be successful. We have a group of guys in our room who are extremely talented, anyone that’s on that field can go out there and start and make the plays. We just want to win games, and whoever is out there just knows to give their best effort because we play fast and they’re going to rotate guys, and you’re going to get your chance. As long as you go out there and be ready when you get your chance, you’ll get another one. We all understand.

On his skillset translating well in this offense…

KW: Just my ability to make people miss, you know, playing space, get open, run routes. I try to be a complete receiver, rather than a gimmick guy, getting jet sweeps and screens. I haven’t shown too much yet, because it’s still early in the season and we’re just getting a chance to get rolling. I do a lot of things that obviously the coaches saw, they recruited me to come here and help us win games.

On what has made the difference in this team that has led to a start like this…

KW: We’re just a group of guys that believe. Half our team is out of the portal, and when Cig (Curt Cignetti) recruited us exactly what he wanted to do and what his goals were, and clearly, he said enough to get us to come here. We have a lot of guys from schools that won games and understand winning culture. We brought it over and it translated, and you can see us turning it into wins.
