Indiana football lands first 2025 commit in offensive lineman Matt Marek

The Indiana football program secured its first commitment of the 2025 class on Wednesday night with a pledge from offensive lineman Matt Marek. Marek took a visit to Indiana for Junior Day this past weekend where he earned a scholarship offer from the Hoosiers.

The 6-foot-5, 280-pounder is from the same high school as former IU lineman and longtime NFL lineman Dan Feeney.

Indiana football offensive line coach Bob Bostad was the only member of the previous coaching staff to be retained by Curt Cignetti when he took over in December.

Since then, Carter Smith and Mike Katic returned from the transfer portal and NFL Draft prep, respectively.

Marek is a three-star prospect from Carl Sandburg (Ill.) who held offers from programs such as Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Northern Illinois, Western Michigan and others.
