Miami (Oh.) defensive end Caiden Woullard is one of the most sought-after transfers on the market right now and the Indiana football program is one of the teams involved.
Woullard was a First-Team All-MAC performer this season finishing with 41 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks and two forced fumbles — helping the Redhawks to a MAC Championship.
His production, efficiency and consistency has yielded him offers from Oklahoma, Mississippi State, Minnesota, Kansas, Missouri, Texas A&M, Indiana and numerous others since entering the portal on December 26. He also has reported interest from LSU, Washington, Michigan State, Ohio State, Florida and others.
At the moment, Woullard is reported to be visiting Oklahoma on Jan. 3 and in the process of scheduling an official visit to Texas A&M. Outside of those two trips, things are very much in the beginning stages.
“I know I will have to earn it, but definitely being on the field and playing a lot of snaps is the biggest part,” Woullard told 247Sports.com. “The culture and coaches are also a huge part of finding the right place, so I will not go somewhere I don’t feel comfortable. Then lastly is being took care of financially and being able to make money off of my name (image and likeness) and play.”
For Indiana, adding to the defensive line is a major point of emphasis heading into the spring. Currently, Indiana has very little depth or experience on the defensive line despite adding five lineman during the early signing period.
Woullard has appeared in 38 games across the seasons.
In 2022, Woullard had 29 tackles, five tackles for loss and four sacks.
Woullard has one season of eligibility remaining.A native of Ohio, Woullard was a three-star prospect from the 2021 recruiting class. He ranked as the No. 203 linebacker in the 247Sports composite rankings. He held offers from Miami, Buffalo, Ball State, Kent State, Eastern Michigan and others.
