Indiana football has its full path revealed on Sunday for the first-ever 12-team College Football Playoff bracket.

Indiana football found out its fate in the College Football Playoff bracket reveal on Sunday afternoon — it’s in.

Indiana received the 10-seed seed.

That means it’s a first round matchup at 7-seed Notre Dame. If Indiana were to win, it would play 2-seed Georgia.

The game is expected to be December 20 at 8:00 pm ET.

Indiana football finished the regular season at 11-1 and there was much talk over the last few weeks following IU’s loss to Ohio State about where it would land.

For Curt Cignetti, he tried to make his case one last time on Saturday night — a case to play host in the first round.

“Ninth in the CFP — here’s my question, right? There’s six one loss teams in the country, right? We lost to the second ranked team on the road. Penn State lost to the fourth ranked team at home. Texas lost the the fifth ranked team at home. Boise lost to the seventh ranked team. Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois and SMU lost to an unranked team at the time they played,” Cignetti said on CBS. “So how are we not right now seeded for a home game? That’s what I want to know. We have the largest margin of victory in the country. Take out the FCS and the G5, P4 only. We’re outscoring people 40-17, second in the country. But, because our name is Indiana and not Michigan, we’re ninth?”

The Hoosiers are coming off their best season in program history. Most wins. Most Big Ten wins. Best home record in program history. Tying the most 30+ point wins in a single season (1917).

Indiana was picked 17th out of 18 teams in the Big Ten preseason poll.

All first round matchups will take place on December 20 and 21.
