Indiana football needed help in its secondary and received it on Wednesday night as Arizona transfer safety ended his recruitment and committed to the Hoosiers.

Warnell was a very productive player for two seasons with the Wildcats. He appeared in 25 games and totaled 41 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, one pass breakup and one fumble recovery.

In 2023, Warnell had 15 tackles, three tackles for loss and three sacks.

Before Arizona, he spent two years at UCLA playing sparingly. He played in 16 games and combined to make 11 tackles, two pass breakups and one forced fumble.

The 6-foot-3 safety was a three-star recruit in the transfer portal. Out of high school, Warnell was rated the No. 58 overall cornerback.

Warnell joins Josh Sanguinetti, Nic Toomer, Tyrik McDaniel, Bryson Bonds, Terry Jones Jr. and Shawn Asbury II as the Indiana football safeties.
