A new team on the Indiana basketball non-conference schedule seems to be set as IU will reportedly host Chattanooga during the 2024-25 season.

While the date is still TBD, Rocco Miller of Bracketeer.org posted the new matchup on his website which tracks all scheduling news across college basketball.

Chattanooga finished 21-12 last season and finished second in the Southern Conference. It finished 140th in KenPom’s ratings. The Mocs do return their two leading scorers from last year. Guards Honor Huff and Trey Bonham return after averaging 17.4 points per game and 16.0 points per game, respectively.

Huff shot 38 percent on 3.3 made 3s per game last year while Bonham shot 41.3 percent on 2.0 made 3s a game.

This is the third home non-conference matchup known, in addition to South Carolina and Eastern Illinois. Indiana is set to play in the Battle 4 Atlantis in November with three matchups against Arizona, Gonzaga, Louisville, Oklahoma, Providence, West Virginia and Davidson possible.

Indiana basketball head coach Mike Woodson has made it a priority to get Indiana back in national-level games which has included a home-and-home matchup with Kansas that wrapped up this past season. Indiana also participated in the Empire Classic at Madison Square Garden during 2023-24, facing UConn and Louisville. The Hoosiers also traveled to Atlanta this past year to face Auburn. Last season, Indiana traveled to Las Vegas to take on Arizona as well.

Here is a look at how IU’s non-conference schedule currently stands, per Rocco Miller.
